I talk about DLSR cameras because in my opinion these are the easiest camera for a beginner to learn on. These type of camera's offer lots of options and take quality photographs even for a beginner. Take proper care and try to handle your camera gently so it functions correctly. Keeping your camera with you at all times is good practice, you never really know when the next great shot is going to present itself. Also experiment with your camera settings. Get to know them so you get the shot you want. Also learn the basic rules of photography. There is tons of info online to educate yourself with and should be utilized in your studies of photography.
